Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - White Stains is a poetic work, written by Aleister Crowley. The title is based on onanism. White Stains contains various poems which can also be regarded as individual works. The majority of these poems are overtly sexual in content. Crowley claimed that he had written White Stains for the purpose of rewriting Richard von Krafft-Ebing's Psychopathia Sexualis in a lyrical form. As with other works of Crowley, obscenity is celebrated. David Bowie references 'white stains' in his song Station to Station. 84 pp. Englisch.

Hardback. Zustand: Very Good. CORRECTED, RE-SET & LIMITED EDITION, 1 of 1000 copies: out of sequence, unnumbered. Large 8vo, pp. xv, [1], 118. White leatherette boards, spine lettered in black, facsimile of Crowley's signature (with the phallic 'A') to upper board. Edges and endpapers black. Privately printed. Limited Edition. Publisher's original white vinyl boards with black titling to the spine and front panel, with Humphrey Stone illustrated dustwrapper. All edges black. A better than very good copy, the binding tight and square, with some toning around the panel edges. The contents, with some occasional light spotting, are otherwise clean and free from inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper, that is a little toned to the flaps. Not price clipped (£7.00 net) A collection of verse that was originally privately and anonymously printed in 1898 in an edition of 100 copies, most of which were destroyed in 1924 by H.M. Customs. Republished in this reset limited edition of 1000 copies with an introduction by John Symonds, Crowley's literary executor and biographer. This example is number 291.
