Plaxis is a practical finite element code for plain and axisymmetric modelling of soil and rock. The Windows user-interface with full automatic mesh generator runs on Windows 95 and Windows NT. In Plaxis, geotechnical constructions may be analyzed including structural behaviour as well as the interactoin between soil and structures. Advanced models exist for realistic modelling of soft soils, as well as hard soils. Analysis in Plaxis can include consolidation and groundwater flow. The code uses robust and automated calculatoin procedures. Existing Plaxis users can upgrade at reduced costs.
