Hardcover. Zustand: Fair. A very elegant publication with half-binding (cloth/paper). The cloth sections have gold gilt floral patterns. The paper sections are also decoratively golden and their style is replicated internally across the endpapers (image). TEG. Tight binding. In addition to the translation, Major-General Patrick Maxwell is responsible for the book's Introduction (dated October 1893; hence the listed date). Condition (external): sound with a little bending of the corners; plus some crushing/fraying at the head and tail of the spine. Condition (internal): the main issue is the occasional pencil marking/ticking throughout the book (see example image of Contents Page). There is one exception to the generally unobtrusive nature of such marginalia - see photo of title page with its bold signature in blue crayon etc. pp. xvii, 303 (inc a Notes section), followed by pages listing the 'Scott Library'/16mo. Please note that, depending on destination, we may request a payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Proceeds to Amnesty International. Abe2410.
