Full-Leather. Presumed Second Edition. This is the nicest example of a book of this age you will find. The binding has been preserved since new in a leather jacket. A book of this age would be descibed as near fine. There has been some light insect damage which has affected the title of the frontis and a small spot at the top and its tissue protection, plus the rep. the endpapers have some slight spotting and the title page has a faint watermark along the foredge. the front pastedown has an inscription dated 1874 . the pages are white with gilt edges all round showing only the faintest of thumbing. The Dark Blue full leather binding is stunning with only the slightest endwear. , the spine has gilt decorated edges and six gilt decorated panels . Silk bookmark. The leather jacket has slight rubbing to the edges. PP Lxxviii , 691, 2 portrait frontis and 18 tissue protected engavings . Image Availiable Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
