In den USA verwendete die Gruppe zunächst den Bandnamen HER (His Evil Royality), da es dort bereits eine andere Band namens HIM gab. Die Gruppe erwarb die Rechte des Namens und darf sich seitdem auch in den USA HIM nennen. Ville Valo (2007)1998 erschienen die Single Wicked Game und das dazugehörige Debütalbum Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 in Deutschland.
