"ML Gnistan" (Marxist-Leninist Spark") was a Swedish political pro-Chinese newspaper, published from April 1967 to the end of 1989, first by a group leaded by Nils Holmberg and as a simple stencyled printed matter in folio format issued at 500 copies. When the KFML was formed the same year, it became soon a montly offset-printed and its circulation increased rapidly (7500 copies in May 1968, 14.000 in the spring of 1970). From 1972, it became a weekly newspaper and switched to a tabloid format. In May 1975, the circulation reached 15.000 copies, and 17.000 in 1976 ; more than 6.000 peoples were regular subscribers. But by 1980, the circulation dropped to 4000 copies and to 2000 by 1984. In 1986, when the SKP became the Solidaritetspartiet (Solidarity Party), "ML Gnistan" was renamed "Solidaritets-Gnistan" ("Solidarity Spark"), which was closed down at the end of 1989. / Sverige.
